I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through the year already! At the beginning of this year there were a few things I wanted to work on regarding my creativity, business and general well-being. I’m always looking to grow and development my creative business, so here’s what I’ve been up to and why.
After a busy 2 years I’m excited to share I’ve completed my MA in Textile Design at Birmingham City University with Distinction. For the course I focused on Biophilia, the concept that we all have an innate need for nature. This term was popularised by Edward O. Wilson’s 1984 book of the same name, where he proposed our need to affiliate with nature and other living things is part of our biology.
We’re thrilled to be featured in the latest edition of Estila magazine which include previously un-seen shots from our photoshoot at Winterbourne House and Gardens last year and an interview with me talking about my latest developments and Biophilia.
Last month we exhibited at Handmade at Kew, as part of Design Factory, to launch the new luxury silk scarves. Thanks everyone who visited and supported us, and a big welcome to new followers!
As part of my MA Textile Design at Birmingham City University, I’ve been exploring the concept of Biophilia as the inspiration for my current body of work.
